| A word from the artist... "I'm always on the look for the raw
material. I never buy someone else's lapidary work. Every stone set in the jewelry starts
out in the form of a rock, then it is slabbed on various sizes of saws (depending upon the
composition of the stone). From this each stone goes through seven different polishing
wheels and here is where the design starts. The gem stone dictates the setting. The stone
tells you what it wants. There are dainty stones that call for a frilly, feminine setting;
some others are very masculine in appearance, these would usually wind up in a belt buckle
or a bolo tie with broad sweeping effects. |
