E-mail Settings to Verify

Verify that you are connected to the Internet when attempting to read or send mail.

If your e-mail address is @citystar.com, your incoming mail server should be mail.citystar.com. Your outgoing mail or SMTP server should be smtp.citystar.us if your dialup username is in the form of 12345@citystar.com. Your outgoing mail or SMTP server should be smtp.safepages.com if your dialup username is in the form of csc1234@pop.net, csc1234@world.net, csc1234@usa, or csc1234@surf.net. If you are a Web hosting customer, your incoming (POP3) mail server should be mail.yourdomain.com, and your outgoing mail server (SMTP server) should be your ISP's SMTP server. If CityStar® is your ISP, check your dialup username and use the appropriate above-listed server for your outgoing mail server.

The "Account name" of your e-mail account is your complete e-mail address. For example, if your address is jsmitti@citystar.com, your account name is jsmitti@citystar.com. Even if your e-mail address @citystar.com is longer than 8 characters before the "@" sign, your account name is always your complete e-mail address. Your account name is always entered in lower case (all small letters).

To locate these settings in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express, open the Tools menu and select Accounts. Highlight the account of your choice, and select Properties. Then select the Server tab. See CityStar's complete Outlook and Outlook Express setup instructions.

To locate these settings in Eudora, open the Tools menu and select Options. Highlight the Sending Mail option. See CityStar's complete Eudora 4.3 setup instructions.
